Victoria (VIC)

Victoria is the smallest but most densely populated state in Australia. The capital city of Melbourne is the second most populated in Australia with an estimate of 4 million residents. Melbourne is regarded as the cultural capital of the country, a buzzing metropolis of television and film, fashion and contemporary art. Popular destinations for all visitors’ of Melbourne are Federation Square, the Crown Casino, the Melbourne Zoo and the Melbourne Museum.

Luna Park is one of two Luna Parks in Australia, the second is in Sydney. The park was established in 1912 and is located in St. Kilda. It has 16 rides including the Scenic Railway, the longest running roller coaster in the world.

More than 3 million people stop by to visit Victoria’s Phillip Island every year. The most popular attraction is The Penguin Parade. This is when Little Penguins or as they are known in Australia, Fairy Penguins, because they are the smallest known species of penguins, (they reach the height of only 43 centimetres) come ashore.  There is also a wildlife park and the island is also a popular location for surfing.
