Western Australia (WA)
WA occupies one third of the entire continent of Australia and is the biggest state. Perth is the capital city of Western Australia and is a very cultural, musical and sports focused city. There are many art galleries and museums to visit including Western Australian Museum and the Perth Institute of Performing Arts. A strong local music scene has developed many well known Australian bands like Eskimo Joe and End of Fashion. Perth has many home sports team in such sports as netball, cricket and the most popular, Australian rules football.The Indian Pacific, a train that runs between Perth and Sydney. The Trans-continental passenger rail started in 1970. The service operates twice a week. The cities are on opposite sides of the country and are more than 4300 kilometres apart. The journey takes around three days and stops at designated locations along the way including Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia.While in Western Australia you should visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Area is a popular spot for tourists because of the clear, blue water and famous for their friendly bottle-nosed dolphins that frequently swim close to the shore to interact with visitors. Nigaloo Reef is another must see destination, it is one of the world’s largest fringe coral reefs and is located on WA’s mid north coast, it is a two hour flight north of Perth.
